Business consulting that actually changes things

Most consultants hand you a slide deck and disappear. We sit beside you, dig into the numbers, and stay until the problem is solved. Based in Scotland, working with owner-led businesses across the UK.

How an engagement works

1

Diagnostic conversation

A 90-minute call where we listen more than we talk. You walk us through your revenue, your team structure, your bottlenecks. We ask the questions your board probably hasn't. No fee for this stage.

2

Focused analysis

Over two weeks we pull apart your P&L, interview key staff, and map your customer journey from first touch to repeat purchase. You receive a written report with five to eight specific recommendations, ranked by impact and effort.

3

Implementation support

We join your weekly stand-ups, coach your managers through the changes, and track the numbers week by week. Typical engagements last three to six months. We leave when the metrics prove the work is done.

4

Quarterly check-ins

After the engagement ends, we schedule a one-hour review each quarter for the first year. If something drifts, we catch it early. This is included in the original fee.

What we do for owner-led businesses

Revenue and margin diagnosis

We trace every pound from sale to bank account. Where is margin leaking? Which products or services actually make money once you account for the hidden costs? We build a simple model you can update yourself each month, so you always know where you stand.

Operations and team structure

Growing from ten people to thirty is where most businesses break. Roles blur, communication stalls, and the founder ends up doing everything. We redesign your org chart, clarify who owns what, and set up the reporting rhythms that let you step back from daily firefighting.

Growth strategy and market entry

Thinking about a new region, a new product line, or an acquisition? We test the idea before you spend real money. That means customer interviews, competitor mapping, and a financial model that shows what the first 18 months will actually look like. If the numbers don't work, we tell you. Saving you from a bad bet is just as valuable as finding a good one.

Outcomes from recent engagements

£1.2m
Recovered annual margin

A 45-person logistics firm in Glasgow was under-pricing its express service by 18%. We rebuilt their pricing model and coached the sales team on the new rates over eight weeks.

67%
Faster order fulfilment

An Edinburgh food manufacturer had a 9-day average from order to dispatch. After restructuring warehouse shifts and simplifying their approval chain, that dropped to 3 days.

4 → 1
Management layers removed

A family-owned construction supplier had four approval tiers for purchase orders under £500. We cut it to one, freeing the MD to focus on contract negotiation instead of rubber-stamping invoices.

Who we are

Three consultants, each with 15+ years running or advising SMEs. We've managed payrolls, missed payrolls, hired badly, fired reluctantly, and learned the hard way what actually moves a business forward.

We don't sub-contract. The person you meet in the first call is the person who does the work. Our fees are fixed per engagement, agreed upfront, with no hourly clock ticking in the background.

Based in Scotland, we work on-site when it matters and remotely when it doesn't. Most of our clients are between £2m and £30m in annual revenue.

Common questions

It depends on scope, but most three-to-six-month projects fall between £15,000 and £40,000. We quote a fixed fee after the diagnostic conversation, and that number doesn't change unless you ask us to expand the brief.

Occasionally, but only if you already have revenue and customers. Pre-revenue startups need a different kind of help, and we'd rather point you to someone better suited than take your money when the timing isn't right.

Yes. About a third of our clients are in England or Wales. We travel for the on-site days and handle the rest via video. International work is possible but we'd need to discuss logistics first.

Good. That usually means we've found something uncomfortable but important. We'll walk you through the evidence, debate it properly, and if you still disagree, you're the owner. We never insist. But we will document why we recommended it, so you can revisit the decision later if circumstances change.

We take on two new clients at a time, so availability varies. Typically we can schedule the diagnostic call within a week and begin the analysis phase two to three weeks after that. If your situation is urgent, tell us and we'll see what we can rearrange.
